Welcome to B'more Pride 2007

Solidarity...We as One

Welcome

Welcome to Baltimore Black Pride's web site. 2007 is proving to be a a bigger and better year then ever with all the great things from 2006 (read the article below), it was only a set up to what the true power of pride can do in a city such as Baltimore. With the help of the community and great supporters 2007 will be a year of reckoning. This year's theme is Solidarity...We as One. this theme represents so many things on so many different levels. Solidarity is monumental in the sense it is important that we as a community pull to gether and provide a united front to address the issues and discriminations that plague us on a daily basis, Racism is not the only thing that we as gay, lesbian, bi-sexual, and transgendered individuals face in the year 2007. We as One is a statement about power, the power of the collective is an awesome weapon in the pursuit of equality. Simply put there is power in numbers and the more the merrier has never rang truer. Bring these two together and you have the power of unity, when we stand united in numbers creating dialogue and change with a focused energy we can't help but be heard. So stand and be heard with the rest of the GLBT community of color.

As the Executive Director of Baltimore Black pride, I encourage you to step up this year and be counted. Be counted as an advocate for change and education. We are always looking for volunteers to make all that we do a success. so weather you have 1 hour or 50 if you would like to help make this years activities with pride or any one of our other projects a reality please contact us. You can send your email indicating areas of interest and availability to volunteering@bmoreblackpride.org and a coordinator of committee chair in your indicated areas will get back to you.

Pride 2006 in Review

2006 was a great year for BBP. In 2006 we completed another successful year in collaboration with the Baltimore City Health Departments Minority AIDS Initiative (MAI) Program. We reconnected people Infected with HIV back into service and care. We performed outreach and testing getting people to know about their HIV status so that they could continue to live a happy healthy life regardless of their status. 2006 was also a notable because it is the first year that Baltimore was to host a special reception for Gov. Howard Dean, Chair, for the Democratic Party. Be sure to check out the pictorial on this event.
